Options doesn't get saved After I run apt-get update and apt-get upgrade on my Debian 3 unstable machine, LimeWire stopped to work. I downloaded the latest limwire from limewire.org and compiled it. It works, but when I open the Options box under the tools menu and changes something and the closes it, my changes doesn't get saved. |
I found a old post about it that solved my problem. There is Ok Cancel and apply buttons but they where hidden because the window was to small. I couldn't resize the window in blackbox but i changed to icewm and was able to resize it there. |
I have the same problem with 2.7.3, running under RedHat 8.0. |
I have the same problem. The options are saved in the program OK, but when I exit the program and restart it again, its like I am running it for the first time everytime. Is there a solution to this? |
Me Too (Startup Wizard Keeps on Starting everytime I got an email from someone at LimeWire..asked me what I was running. I guess they haven't heard about this problem. |
THIS WORKS!!! An Anonymous user posted the fix below...and it works! HOLY CRAP!! I experienced the same problem and I could solve it this way. In .limewire directory, instead of a FILE named limewire.props there was a DIR with this name. This prevented the program of saving all the settings, and it always worked as it was running the first time. So I remove the DIR and created an empty file with the same name, and rw options for all. Another tip: when use the Options dialog, I couldn't see any ok/cancel buttons. So I enlarged the window height and there they were! |
Thanks Thanks! That fixed it. |
Awesome - Options save BUT If I try to run the java -jar RunLime.jar command, I get java -jar RunLime.jar Exception in thread "main" java.util.zip.ZipException: No such file or directory at java.util.zip.ZipFile.open(Native Method) at java.util.zip.ZipFile.<init>(ZipFile.java:105) at java.util.jar.JarFile.<init>(JarFile.java:110) at java.util.jar.JarFile.<init>(JarFile.java:52) Is this because I have a dead link somewhere? I can run the LimeWire shell script no problem, but I'm going to make an armchair guess that it's taking limewire longer to start up for me. Nonetheless, it's GREAT to not have to go through that start-up splash screen, not have options saved etc. =D I'm running redhat 7.3 w/jre1.3.1_06 |
