Maybe posting your steps and then the resulting error messages would greatly facilitate assistance.

Default Me 2. Red Hat 8, attempting to install Limewire

Hey there,

Me 2. I also am attempting to install Limewire on RedHat 8. Now, given my command line knowledge is fairly nonexistent - this might be a bit difficult. But, I have found the Limewire bin IS opened by RedHat's "File Roller" program (again, apologies, I am new to Linux) - and the error given as soon as Limewire starts to be installed, is something like "need java vm in order to install". It has been about a week since I have tried - in the next couple of days, I will read the Limewire instructions to install from the command line again, and come back with the correct information.

Of course, I have asked this from Red Hat support - the jvm is a "third party product" so they can't really comment on that - but then the guy says that java does come packaged as part of Red Hat 8. Which of course simply leaves me confused...

This really is a problem with the java not being installed, as I have the same problem with the jvm not being installed in the mozilla browser. Which isn't an issue that can be solved in a Limewire support forum - but I was hoping that you might know of another forum where I could post the question about RedHat 8 and JDK compatibility, that had a decent chance of getting an intelligent and helpful answer.

Thanks a bunch.

John
