Finally! After trying and trying to get the installer to work, I gave up and downloaded the .tgz and unpacked it. From there it was simple to write a one-line vi script and make it executable. Now all I have to do is type ./limewire and up it comes! |
script how did you write the script im trying to figure out a way to make an executable on my desktop |
Not Necessary No need to create a one line "script" if you have access to /usr/bin/ directory. Simply create a symbolic link to /usr/bin from your limewire binary (executable for newbies). Here is my command to create as I suggest: (Do this as root if you can't add anything as a regular user to this directory) ln -s /home/ndiscreet/LimeWireLinux/LimeWire /usr/bin/limewire Now, all you have to type is limewire from any directory in order to run LimeWire.
