Question Re: Trying to install LimeWire on Red Hat Linux 9 i686

I tried to install the latest LimeWireLinux on my computer. It's a Pentium 4 runing Red Hat Linux 9 i686 kernel ver. 2.4.20-8 . But when I tried it, it gave this output:

[root@localhost .gnome-desktop]# sh LimeWireLinux.bin
Preparing to install...
Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive...
Configuring the installer for this system's environment...

Launching installer...

me to the problem is that it cant detect the java compiler and I rember that some one found a way to fix this by typing in some extra code after sh /blaa {thencode} and it worked!

Default Simple Solution

Remove jdkgcj from your system and your problem should be solved.

rpm -e jdkgcj

If you get dependency errors, run this command instead:

rpm -e jdkgcj --nodeps

HTH
