Cant install in Mandrake 8 I have downloaded and installed Suns Java 1.3.1. It says : "Kaffe virtual machine, Engine: Just -in- time v3 Version: 1.0.6 Java Version: 1.1" When I try to install Limewire, I get this message: "Couldn't find or load essential class Java/Lang/Object java.lang.NoClassDeff" |
Your Java1.3.1 install is not in your path. Add it to your path varilable - likely in your /home/you/.bash_profile PATH=/opt/java1.3.1/bin:$PATH; export PATH or wherever the package was installed. -greg |
By default, (unless you changed it), the path would be: /usr/java/jre1.3.1/bin/java -cp . RunLime Make sure your in your LimeWire Directory when you type that. |
I am confused 1 Attachment(s) You think this could be easier. Now what? |
That worked for me I was having that same trouble. Adding the proper PATH statement to my .bash_profile and then logging out and back in fixed the problem. I know there's a way to update $PATH without logging in again, but I don't know what it is. |
That worked for me, part II Sorry, I should have specified...the solution that worked for me was that suggested by gbildson. |
