Linux: FIX: Limewire start in a little window; System resource Hi, all
as I read on another thread, there was a problem on some Linux system starting Limewire, the program run in a little window without the possibility of enlarge it ( I where using jre1.3.1 from sun with Suse linux 7.2).
I have tryed to install IBMJava2-jre...rpm (that can be download at ftp.suse.com/pub). With that plugin I fixed all execution error (fonts etc..)
The only think you have to do after installing the Java package from IBM is to change to the correct path to the new java directory and enjoy Limewire.
I think the problem was that on my /usr/lib/java ---> jdk1.3.1
there was no file named fonts.dir with the description of the font to use.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
LimeWire the best gnutella client I have ever installed on linux/windows system.
The only problem is on system resources. I have an AMD-K6-2 450mhz processor with 128RAM installed (kernel and an ADSL connection......
Limewire sucks the entire swap memory depending on number or hosts connected (Hoping that in a new release there will be possibile to turn ON/OFF the function "GET MORE HOST").
So, if you haven't at least 128RAM memory and a swap partition lager than 100mb....DON'T try to have more than 7 INCOMING/OUTGOING connections also because with a standard internet connection of 56kbps those 7hosts will suck your entire bandwidht.
GOOD LUCK! |
