No JVM found No Java virtual machine could be found from your path enviroment variable. You must install VM prior to running this program. What do I need to do here? I just updated j2re so that I could access Java based content through my web browser. |
I get the same exact message, whether I install the Java JRE binary (my laptop) or the RPM (my desktop). What is the linux manipulation needed to allow the limewire installation to be able to find the VM? FWIW, the JRE is in /usr/java. |
Now there's three of us, cause i also installed every Java related program, and my mozilla is now viewing applets, so it's working, but somehow the limewire installer doesn't work. It can't see that Java has been installed. I am using the following command to install it, maybe i am missing something: check it out: [rafa@00e0295c9f23 Installers]$ sh ./LimeWireLinux.bin Preparing to install... Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive... Configuring the installer for this system's environment... No Java virtual machine could be found from your PATH environment variable. You must install a VM prior to running this program. [rafa@00e0295c9f23 Installers]$ |
Found the answer: run it like this on a terminal: PATH=$PATH:/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_06/bin sh ./LimeWireLinux.bin Of course, you have to change the path to java/bin, it maybe different than mine. A different version or installation path. |
