![]() How do I use the installer? I try to run the script after untarring with sh ./runlime.sh and get a error - unable to initialize threads: cannot find class /java/lang/Threads, but if I run java -version it says java 1.1.8 is installed. So I look thrpough the forum and see that you need to install LimeWireOther.zip but it is nowhee to be found on the download page - there is LimeWireOtherWinNoVM or something for Winblose. The directions in the readme don't match what you download. I have been fighting this for about a week and am no closer to installing LimeWire. HELP!! Thoughts?/Comments?/Suggestions thanxalot |

![]() I have been trying to install 1.6b on suse 7.1 with no success. I changed runlime.sh so that it contains /usr/lib/jdk1.3/bin/java -classpath . RunLime But I get an error message something like path or file not found when I try to run the script. When I look for /usr/lib/jdk1.3 it is not there. I installed java off of the limewire link with the rpm file. I'm thinking that I am missing something very basic, but don't know what it is. I have tried all the other install commands, but java -cp is not recognized as an option for the java command. I previously installed netscape 6.01- could this have anything to do with having the wrong java? Is there a way to tell if the java is working and the right release etc.? |

![]() For all those who still don't get it to run on SuSE 7.1 (and maybe also RedHat): Install the Java Development Kit 1.3.1 from Sun. If you use the binary j2sdk-1_3_1-linux-i386.bin, it will not install itself automatically into the /usr/lib directory or anywhere you might want it to be, so after running the install binary, you have to execute: mv jdk1.3.1 /usr/lib Then edit your runlime.sh and insert the following line, replacing the original line: /usr/lib/jdk1.3.1/bin/java -classpath . RunLime The original option "-cp" is not a recognised option so it should really be "-classpath" instead. Then you can start Limewire from an x-terminal or anything similar. Note that you can't just type /path/to/limewiredir/runlime.sh but you first have to change into the installation directory and then execute runlime.sh: cd /path/to/limewiredir runlime.sh Have fun. Peter PS: Strangely enough, it LimeWire also doesn't start if you insert the "cd /path/to/limewiredir" line into the shell script and place it somewhere else. If someone knows why and how to work around this, tell us, because it would be very nice to place the script on the Desktop and execute it by simply clicking on it. |

![]() I installed j2sdk-1.3.1-linux-i386-rpm.bin and let it install to /usr/java/jdk1.3.1/bin. I the edited the limewire.sh script to: /usr/java/jdk1.3.1/bin/java -classpath . RunLime and it works!! Thanks for the help in this post. |
