Default LimeWire Pro Linux installation

hi. i got Limewire Pro 4.08 for windows as a gift, but now i switched to Mandrakelinux. since Limewire is written in Java, i thought that i could just copy the files to my linux drive and run it because java is cross-platform. however, this is not working. what do i do? also, i looked in the program files folder, and saw that it had a file called LimeWire.exe-isnt it supposed to be a .jar or .class file? i tried to run it through wine, and i tried to run LimeWire.jar through the command line. nothihing works-please help. thanks

If you keep the URL of the gift page that was sent to you, you should be able to download Limewire for linux from there.

Just copying the files from windows will not work - it is packaged differently for linux.

We wrote that .exe ourselves, although there are tools out there which can take a .jar file and create an .exe out of it.

That does not mean the file runs native, all the .exe does is invoke the java virtual machine for you.
