Connection Problem with BT Broadband Hi all, I'm using SUSE 9.1, BT Broadband in Scotland, Limewire 4.0.8 and a BT Voyager 205 ADSL router. When I try to connect, Limewire only gets a really week connection or none. After a couple of minutes, it says, "your computer seems to have no connection to the web". But there is an internet connection... Any thoughts? Ports on the Firewall or anything else? -ODY |
There are a number of things you can check: -do you have a firewall? ->is it configured to allow LW to access the net? -do you have a router? ->is it configured to allow LW to access the net? -are you trying to connect from home? -does your ISP throttle P2P? |
Not sure whether BT's your problem, but I'd strongly advice changing your ISP if you can - I've used BT & Tiscali - they both suck: slow and unreliable as hell. zen is the best available in the UK, imo - or the Bulldog 4mbps offer if you're in central london |
