daap in 4.2.5 hello all. i noticed that my limewire (4.2.3) broadcast my share to itunes - very cool as i run slackware and my wife is on os x. however tonight i upgraded to 4.2.5, and now daap fails to start. I can't find any debugging informaiton - any ideas? Last edited by burningodzilla; December 8th, 2004 at 07:06 AM. |

apologies for not being more specific. At startup limewire notified me that (for some unspecified reason) daap failed to load, and that to enable it i should just enable it throught the options menu. I tried this, and when i hit 'apply', the checkbox became unchecked. If i check it and hit ok it just closes, but daap does not appear to be active. Upon reloading limewire i get the same error. I cant seem to find any log files that log such exceptions - the err.txt file complains about some gtk issues (im using java 1.5), but nothing else. I can see at least one other exception being thrown; something about Simpp... and simpp.xml file not being found. I can't be more specific as im at work, but if you have any suggestions let me know. Thanks! |

Could you PLEASE try to reproduce and post more details about that exception? It is extremely important. Thank you. |

Is there a simpp.xml file in your ~/.limewire directory? Also, please generate an error report and paste the output here. You can do that by Tools->Options->Bug Reports->View Example. Thanks for your help |

No, I have no such file; even after nuking my ~/.limewire dir and running limewire. --ps I'm not sure what you want me to do with the example bug report. No notification is given that anything went wrong, I just happened to notice it when running from a term. |

panic mode=off Don't worry about this.. its nothing serious. For now you can use the "runLimeWire" installed in your home directory and it will not show this error. In the meantime we'll look into fixing those messages. Thanks for the help, zab |
