Default LimeWire.rpm won't start

hi..

I'm having some trouble with limewire on Fedora Core 3, once it has been installed it won't start, it just comes with an error : runLime.sh: Line 14: Java: command not found

does anyone knows how to solve that?

You need to install the Java Runtime Environment from Sun microsystems (fedora 3 defaults to gcj/kaffe, you do not want that).

Please refer to http://www.fedorafaq.org/custom_java.html
for instructions how to get java running on fedora 3.

I have fedora core 3 also and I have the exact same problem. I have the latest JRE installed (version 1.5.0). The instructions you linked to allow me to install JRE 1.4.2. Are you saying we should downgrade? Isn't there anyway to alter the runLime.sh? Thanks.

You can either make runLime.sh point to the actual java executable, or add its path to the PATH variable.

The latter is preferrable since it will allow you to run other java applications w/o having to edit their script files.
