error: failed dependencies: libXss.so.1 is needed by LimeWire-pro-4.8.1-0 Hi,
I've been using LimeWire Pro 4.0 for more than twelve months now, on Sun JDS1 Linux (SuSE under the hood). LimeWire 4.2 (free) also installs and runs fine.
Today I decided to purchase LimeWire Pro 4.8.1. I was accustomed to downloading LimeWireLinux.bin, but now I see that to Linux users an RPM is offered instead. That's fine, for now anyway, as JDS uses RPM package management. As I'm intending to trial Ubuntu, however, a BIN would have been preferable.
Notwithstanding, I downloaded and attempted to install the RPM. It appears that, despite having successfully used LimeWire Pro on my system for many months, suddenly I am lacking a dependency. What has changed? I thought the idea of Java/Swing applications is that there are no native dependencies (just the JVM). How do I fix it? And, do you anticipate again offering LimeWire in BIN form?
saxon:/mnt/ultra3/Downloads/LimeWire # rpm -Uvh LimeWireLinux.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
libXss.so.1 is needed by LimeWire-pro-4.8.1-0
Your help much appreciated.
