Default How to install LimeWire on Fedora, Mandirva, Suse (RPM)

0. become root
1. Get the latest java from http://www.java.com and install it.
2. Download the latest LimeWire RPM from http://www9.limewire.com/beta/LimeWireLinux.rpm and save it in your home folder
3. Open a terminal and type the following commands:

Code:
rpm -Uvh --nodeps ~/LimeWireLinux.rpm
That's it! If you have Fedora or Mandrake you should see an entry in the start menu. If you don't, to run LimeWire open a terminal and simply type "limewire".

Something went wrong with LimeWire.
Maybe you're using the wrong version of Java?
(LimeWire is tested against and works best with with Sun's JRE, Java 1.4+)
The version of Java in your PATH is:
java version "1.4.2"
jdkgcj 0.3.1 (http://www.arklinux.org/projects/jdkgcj)
gcj (GCC) 3.4.3 20050227 (Red Hat 3.4.3-22.fc3)

You are not following the instructions in the first post of this thread.

1. Install Sun Java from www.java.com
2. Install the latest beta RPM.

You could have saved yourself all this trouble had you followed them.

According to your other post, you downloaded the latest "stable" version, not the latest beta. The instructions say to download the latest beta.
