installed, but cant run!!!! Hi, I actually successfully installed LimeWire last night, according to all the good advice on this forum. However, today, I start up a shell and try to run LimeWire again, and I don't get anything! When I do a ps -A, I see LimeWire's started, along with a java[defunct] process. I set my PATH to everthing it was last night when I installed LimeWire, which has $PATH:/usr/java/jdk1.3.0_02/bin:/usr/java/jre1.3.1/bin I don't understand why all of a sudden I can't run it. Please help! Did LimeWire installation set something in my path in addition to these things I already have? Please help! |
Run problem I don't know why LimeWire's not running for you. What system are you using and how did you install it? However, from your path statement it seems as though you have the JDK and the JRE installed. You only need one or the other. The JDK includes the JRE. Since you have the JRE 1.3.1 and the JDK 1.3.0, I suggest removing the JDK. If you want to write java programs yourself, remove the JRE. Ideally you'd want a 1.3.1 JDK but you may be able to get away with the 1.3.0 version. |
