Error Message

I have managed to install limewire 1.7
but when i attempt to run it i get the msg
This application has unexpectedly quit
Invocation of this java application has caused an InvocationTargetException. This app will now exit.

the details are:
java.lan.NoClassDefFound Error: java/swing/JTextArea
at com.limegroup. gnutella. gui. cr.<init>(cr.java:52)
etc....

Any ideas?

Error message

It looks like you're using an older version of Java that doesn't include the Swing classes. Download and install a 1.3.1 version of Java from http://java.sun.com

To see which version of Java is being used, open a terminal and type:

java -version

If you installed a 1.3.1 version of java, then you've also got the old version still on there. Remove the old version. It may be an old JDK or JRE. :-)
