Limewire won't save options

I go into the options dialog, then make some changes, then close the dialog, and the changes don't save, when I open the options they are back to the default value, LimeWire is installed in my local user dir, so there should be no problems with permissions.....all the files in the LimeWire are owned by my user....etc...Any ideas?

try this

Try manually editing the limewire.props file (which should be in the Limewire directory in your home directory) and set the options as they should be. Then open up Limewire and see if they are still the way you set them. If they are correct, then you might have found a bug or something. I'm not sure. If they are not correct, then double check the permissions on the files in that directory just to be sure.

Check the permissions of limewire.props file. In the Limewire directory do the following:
chmod a+w limewire.props

I was also having problems with saving options. Tried changing the permissions (chmod a+rwx limewrire.props) -- no effect.

So I upgraded to 2.5 hoping the prob would be fixed.

Now I still have the same problem, but the
limewire.props file does not even exist anymore ....

The preferences that I set (like download dir) when I started the first time are saved, but nothing else. Any ideas?

options not saving fix?

I had the same problem until I realized that there are ok, cancel, apply buttons in the options window.

The default height of the options window (linux) "hides" these. Just resize the window a bit and you'll get them. Just closing (with the X) will lose your settings.

Hope that solves your problems too.
