Java version problem on install Hi All! Been using LW Pro for over a year now on my Linux box running Mandriva 2007 Free. Recently ran into a problem while updating my version of the Java Runtime Environment and had to uninstall all old versions of Java and Limewire Pro. I re-downloaded the RPM file for the loader from the Limewire site and got an error message from the installer that said "Some installation packages cannot be installed: Limewire Pro 4.12.11-0.i386 (due to unsatisfied j2re [>=1.4.1]) I have j2re 1.6.0_01 installed which is running successfully with every other program I've used and has been verified by Sun's Java site installation verification applet. I'm at a loss as to how to correct the problem. Any suggestions on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated Thanx! |
Have a look around the linux support forum it may help you with your problem..;) https://www.gnutellaforums.com/general-linux-support/ |
Stumbled on a solution Had a thought after I posted and decided to install the Limewire package without checking for dependencies by running the rpm -ivh command with a --nodeps option. Installation went normally and Limewire ran just fine afterwards. Still scratching my head as to why the installer gave the missing dependency message but LW Pro used my existing version of Java without problem. Thanks anyway to all who looked at the post Keithk2 |
