I can't download

I've installed, after big trouble with the JVM (jdk 1.3.1.02), my LimeWire client for linux (Mandrake 8.0).
The program does run, the connection seems availabe, but the program does NOT download anything.
Why?

P.S. I'm a new linux user. Help me!
