Clean Limewire for Linux

Clean Limewire version 2.1.3 for Linux is available at http://www.geocities.com/burk017/download.html
It's basically just limewire without the ads. Keep checking the site for updates and unreleased beta's.

Exactly, the Linux version doesnt contain any 'spyware'. So you're just taking away the ads (ads that they did themselves) which let LimeWire, Inc to make money for their efforts. I would suggest to use the LimeWire Basic version from limewire.com, knowing you're making a difference and supporting for future gnutella developments.

The entire Clean Limewire group constantly preaches to people that they should purchase the Pro version of Limewire to support Limewire.LLC and their developers. So if people download and install Clean Limewire, you can be assured that they are aware of the whole "help the cause" issue you described. Aside from that, people will probably want to try out the newest cvs source.
