installer can't find VM I'm a new Linux user so I don't know if this is a stupid question or not. I've downloaded and installed the Java Runtime Enviroment and SDK; however, when I try to install the .bin file it gives me this error message: Preparing to install... Extracting the installer resources from the installer archive... Configuring the installer for this system's enviroment... No Java virtual machine could be found from your path enviroment variable. You must install a VM prior to running this program. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |
go to http://www.limewire.com/index.jsp/us...e/installation an read the lines at the bottom of the page. in fact you must set your path. you can also edit the LimeWireLinux.bin and add the path of java |
If have the same problem. I also installed Java correct to /usr/java/jdk1.3.1_02/bin. The installation file is on /home/user/install/limewire/LimeWireLinux.bin What I have to do to install Limewire? Thanks for any answer. Michael |
I got it: In my case it was: export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.3.1_02 export PATH=$PATH:/usr/java/jdk1.3.1_02/bin Michael |
