Setting default mp3 player When I turn off the setting to play mp3s in the limewire program, all that happens when I click a file is launch netscape. How would I be able to set the default mp3 player to xmms? Thanks. |
Me too. I'd really like to have this feature. The one saving grace is that XMMS is "sticky" in terms of the load directory. So, once you load a file from the LimeWire download directory, the next time you load you'll start in the same place. |
Setting default mp3 player Having LimeWire launch netscape would at least be a partial solution if netscape would then launch the appropriate handler. My problem is that if I disable the LimeWrite player nothing at all happens when I try to launch a file. Does anyone know how LimeWire decides what to do when it doesn't use the built-in player? |
me too! I have wondered about this aswell. I have xmms set as my default player for mp3 files - but it wont bring it up when I click. To set your default player under KDE, goto a mp3 file in Konqueror, right click on it and goto the Edit File Type... choice. The main reason i want to get limewire to launch xmms is I only collect mp3s at 160kbps (or 75% vbr), so I would like to check the bitrate when the download starts so I dont waste time downloading low quality tracks. Does anyone know where to find the partially downloaded mp3s - where does limewire store them - I cant find any hidden files in my shared folder, in the ~/Limewire dir or in the ~/.limewire dir - does anyone know where the files are so I can listen to them and check the bitrate please. Thanks Don |
Answer to own question Hmm - the incomplete and currently downloading files are in: ~/Incomplete :) Still no luck launching xmms tho. Don |
Start xmms, add the files in your incomplete directory to your playlist or install windows. |
