bandwidth for the rest of my needs I'm interested in something or some way to limit the bandwidth in limewire when I am surfing. I have all availble for uploading. And between that and my outgoing connections my surfing gets pretty slow. I don't want to lower my outgoing connection though What I would like is to be able to vary my bandwidth between limewire and any other app that might need some. Hopefully "on the fly" so to speak. Can I do that in limewire or is there some other software I can use? Thanks Mick mick_@bellsouth.net |
preferences->uploads->basic allows you to reduce bandwidth allocated for uploads. |
I'm looking for a more automated way. I'm afraid i'll leave it reduced after I'm done. Cause I leave my mac on 24/7. |
No, there's no way of doing that. |
renice! I used the unix renice function (actually, shareware program "renicer") to set the priority of limewire to low. Now everything seems to go faster in the foreground. Still a novice at this unix stuff, but slowly learning some tricks. |
