thank you once more, theala, for bothering. Really appreciate it.

dl'd Pseudo, but was told by a friendly window that "file is not executable" and further "Psuedo can only access Cocoa and Carbon apps, not documents or other files" or something like that.

Have you tried it in Pseudo, or did you just do it in terminal? In any case, if you knew of a workaround or another way, I am grateful.

By the way, thank you for: "If you don't have it, then I highly recommend Mac OS X: The Missing Manual by David Pogue", I'll look into it.

Oh, and the windowserver.plist file didn't overwrite, it just made a copy ending with an extra ".1"

I have respect for skillful and helpful people in this two-dimensional world. Thanks Amy

Actually, I opened the .plist file in Text Edit and editied it directly there, and saved the file. I'm not sure why it saved with a .1 file ending.

Your welcome--hope you find it helpful.

Your welcome. I subscribe to the idea that the best way to pass on thanks for those helping you, is to in turn help someone else. That's what these discussion groups are all about

figured it out. I tried to modify and save the original file in /library/preferences, but as I told you that didn't work. I had to modify the copy I placed on the desktop, and then just switch places.

Another lost soul saved.

I'm pleased with the way Limewire acts now.

Thanks Theala

Oh, and if your sitting on more of these golden eggs, feel free to air them out.

Best regards,

Mikkel
