Default 2.4.4 crashing (a new thing...)

I'm a paid up user of Limewire under os X 10.1.4.

It's been working great for weeks.

Today, it started crashing (file closes, window says The Application has Unexpectedly Quit).

I can't recreate it at will, but some days it will happen a dozen times, other days not at all.

This is the only application where this happens.

Any ideas?

Is your ultrapeer capability disabled?

If possible, post what effect that has on your system. Whether or not it helps, it is a good idea to inform the people writing the program what your experience is.
It definitely stopped mine from crashing, but the tech people were skeptical when I reported it to them. They need quantitative input.
Good luck.

Open the Console application and under preferences, enable crash logs for programs. Then when Limewire crashes, open the log file in your usersfolder/Library/Logs folder. Post that info here.

Hope this helps....

Two weeks now. No ultrapeer, no application unexpectedly quit.

Thumbs up LW on Mac OS X stops crashing after disabling ultrapeer

My 2.4 with OS X was 'quitting unexpectedly' sporadically for a while, but tonight it was crashing every two minutes or so. In frustration I went to this forum and disabled the ultrapeer option as suggested. (Limewire pulldown menu>preferences ((which gives you a box called 'options'))>speed. Check disable ultrapeer box.)) I restarted LW immediately and it's been stable for 30 minutes or so. I'll report back in a day or so as to whether this was a coincidence or not. Thanks to the poster who offered this workaround. How did you figure it out?

[Limew 2.4.4, G3/400 I bought Limewire]

I've got the same behaviour. When running as Ultrapeer, the programm will certainly quit unexpectedly within 1 minute from start.

In Client mode, it runs stable for whole nights.
