Using Limewire in MAC OSX 10.1.5

I have the Limewire version ( not the PRO ) which was running fine on until MAC OSX version 10.1.4.

I now upgraded to MAC OSX 10.1.5 and eversince i cannot launch Limewire - it gives the error message as follows:

CANNOT LAUNCH JAVA APPLICATION
The main class "com.zerog.lax.LAX" could not be loaded.

please advise - I have also uninstalled and reinstalled but get the same message

Hello!

Which version of LimeWire are you running?

If it is the latest version then you should downgrade to the previous version because the newest version does not work well with 10.1.5 for some reason. You will find old and the new versions here:
http://router3.limewire.com/download/

Before you install the downgraded version you should ofcourse un install the current version.

But LW will soon be out in version 2.5 which will be a major upgrade and hopefully it will work better in OS X 10.1.5.

I've had the same problems with Limewire 2.4 in OS X 10.1.5

Trying to access your link, and is not found. Please advise.

Thanks.

Hello!

Sorry for the incorrect link here is the correct one:

http://www3.limewire.com/download/

Try the 2.3 version and see if it helps if not then wait for the new 2.5 version that are currently in beta but will soon be available in full version. And ofcourse you could always run LW 2.4.4 for Classical Mac OS if you download it and install it in Classical Mac OS 9.2.2.

I am very relieved to hear that you guys realize that 2.4 and 10.1.5 do not make for a good computing experience, and better yet that a major upgrade is forthcoming. As I open the Terminal and watch 25% of my processor being chewed up by this program, it makes me nuts. Looking ahead slightly, we need a version that will make the best use of the big upgrade to the OS, Jaguar, due in about two months. Give us a kickbutt OS and a killer LimeWire and we'll be lovin life.
