"limewire has unexpectedly quit"

i often recieve the error message "lime wire has unexpectedly quit" and lime wire closes. Any suggestions. Also, the fastest (or slowest) downloads I am getting are 2-4 kb/sec. Soes anyone have suggestions on how to speed these up? I use green T3 speeds and attempt to use multiple connections, but to no avail.
