cant shut computer down! i run limewire on mac osx 10.1.5. version 2.4.4 wont quit when i try to quit the program. Then, i can't even shut down my mac becuase limewire is still active. the only option from there is to manually kill the power. Any help would be great. |
To change the OS-X LimeWire quitting behavior to "Shutdown Immediately" instead of "Shutdown After Transfers" (the default), go to "LimeWire|Preferences|Shutdown" and click the appropriate radio button. If you have any other applications preventing you from shutting your system down, you can kill them using "Force Quit" from the apple menu in the upper left portion of your screen. |
I have the same problem too, about half the time, usually I am able to force quit |
Dont kill power to OSX Whatever you do, don't kill the power to your Mac in OSX. You need to force quit the application, by using "Apple-Option-Esc" and then picking Limewire. Sometimes I have to do it more than once. AOL instant messenger is the only program that this dosent always work on. |
I had that problem and then realized that LimeWire was still in the "Front". I clicked the desktop to bring up the Finder and then went Apple Menu, Force Quit, LimeWire. Also noticed that Lime wire gets stale when I minimize it to the dock. That is to say, it won't start back up for me until I do the above mentioned. Hope That makes sense. |
