launching mp3 into itunes

I have an imac OS 9.2 and have just upgraded to limewire 2 4.4 and now my downloads will not launch into itunes. I have followed the advice given regarding this problem.
1, I have highlighted the download, opened itunes file> add to library and nothing happens.
2, I have gone to preferences in itunes and have set my itunes for internet music playback, still same problem.
3, Under the apple icon>control pannels>file exchange and have noticed that itunes is not listed at all, but musicmatch is there stating file type as mp3. I have tried to eliminate musicmatch from my computer to maybe solve the problem and add itunes with file type MP3 but it doesn't like that.
4, I have downloaded itunes associator but can't work out how to drag what I have downloaded in limewire into the itunes associator.

I'm sure that this might be me because I am a new imacienne but would really pleased if anyone could help, surely I should just press "launch" and the mp3 files sould import into itunes?

Try opening iTunes. Go to Home-->Shared and selected the desired MP3 files, and drag them over the open iTunes window. This will add them to the iTunes Library.

Or, in Limewire set Preferences-->Player and deselect Limewires internal player as your default player. Then check your iTunes Preferences and make sure it is set as your default player. that should fix it.

Hi there, thanks for the reply, could you please tell me where to find my internal player? Can't find "preferences" in LW anywhere. Also you said once opening itunes to go to home > shared, i don't have this under home. In lime wire once I have a 100% complete download it dosen't go into my shared folder it just disappears? There isn't anything in that folder.

Any thoughts? thanks sophie

Thanks for the advice, eventually found "shared folder" which is located in my hard drive in the limewire folder, quite obvious when you think about it!

The Preferences is in the Limewire menu at the top of the screen.
