Default Limewire + OSX + College = HEADACHE

I'm also experiencing lots of problems with Limewire in OSX. This is my first time trying to use it and I've heard great things about it but haven't seen a single one of these "great things" yet. I open the program and have tried letting it sit for 10, even 20 minutes to find servers/hosts or whatever and it doesn't do squat. Under my connections tab there are several different addresses or IPs (I don't know) under the host category and then under status it reads "connecting" it does it's thing (which is nothing but looks like its trying to) and then finnally gives up and all my hosts go away and the little dot in the bottom left corner turns red. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?! Is this a problem at my school? Is this Limewire? Please help, I'm going through withdraw of being able to download music, etc...
Thanks

Default firewall

Sounds like you may have firewall problems. I take it you can connect to seb sites and all that stuff with a browser? Did you have to do anything to make that happen? You should probably talk to (make friends with) an SA at the college, who can help. Usually there is a number you can call for computing help and the kids there know what is going on.

Angry

Im at a University, and downloading mp3 files is not worth it because the file never completes the download process. Is this something that has to do with a firewall put up by the university or non-compatibility between limewire and osX? This is wack, im not impressed with Limewire so far.

Default I'm the same

It's good to see that some other people are experiencing this ilke i am. i've got the same set up: College, OSX and Lime Wire. Nothing is satisfactory. I've had many problems in every area of the program. What's up? I see lime wire as my only chance for downloading.

Most admins of college networks have some bad firewall configurations running that can block all gnutella traffic completely, or make gnutella connections, very, very slow.
