Angry Limewire ignores Incomplete folder

Limewire occassionaly behaves as if I've never used it before & runs a "setup" program when I launch it. Then it ignores all of my Incomplete downloads, even though there are in the Incomplete folder.

Why is it doing this?

How can I force it to recognize the old Incompletes? (I already tried the Refresh button)

Running Limewire 2.5.5 on OS 10.2 with lots of RAM

Default more specifics

Let be more specific. It creates a new "Incomplete" folder. If I drag the contents of my old "Incomplete" folder into the new one, they show up under the Library tab. However, they don't show up in the downloads pane of the "Search" pane - meaning that incomplete downloads will never be completed.

How can I force Limewire to put a file from the incomplete folder back into the active downloads area?

please post reply and e-mail as well to Jordangold@aol.com

First make a backup copy of your incomplete folder. Then search for the files again. If Limewire finds the same file on the original host or on a different one, it may resume the download. However, it also sometimes starts over from 0. If this happens, close Limewire, replace the incomplete folder with the original, restart LW and try searching again until you get the D/L to resume correctly. I suggest you go about this one file at a time if you're getting a lot of files starting over from 0.

Yes..it's tedious, but at least it's possible. In some other clients, once the file is gone from the downloads window, there is no way to resume it.

I would recommend backing up your incomplete folder any time you have a significant number of partially downloaded files to avoid extreme violence towards your computer each time a crash or any other gremlin screws things up.
