Default Memory Hog (new Java and 10.2)

I finally got that little nast LimeWire workin' great for me, reminded me why I loved it before, BUT. It is slowing my system way dooooooown. I am on a 600mhz iMac w/ 256megs and for some reason it is still very slow. Any enlightenment? I want to do other tasks while downloading shtuff. Thank ya kindly.

Well. I was screwing around and found that if I minimize the program and send it to the Dock then everything is fine (nice and speedy). This works well, but I am still dismayed at how much the program slows me down when it is active.

be sure hashing process is finished, then disconnect. open process viewer in -applications-utilities, check cpu usage for limewire.
I say that cause every 2.6.x is a cpu hog on my machine even when idle. It takes 20-30% idle compared to 0-12% for Limewire 2.5 uploading and downloading on my iMac. Report your cpu usage here, cause Limewire should work out this problem if generalized in X.2.

Thanks
