Limwire the memory *****

It seems that Limewire just sucks up all the RAM in osx. If it's open, all other open applications slow down to dead, windows hardly move when dragged, etc, but then when you hide limewire it all goes back to normal. Any suggestions? Maybe I'm in the wrong forum for this.
