Thumbs down Version 2.6 slow performance in Jaguar OS

I recently upgrade from 2.5 to 2.6. The performance in Jaguar(10.2) dropped considerably. I have to hide or minimize Limewire to keep using my mac.

Any suggestions???

Default Slow performance

I wish I had a suggestion for you, but I did want to let you know that I share your pain. Any way to go back to 2.6.3 so I can reinstall the "more user friendly" version?

Yup, if the app window is visible, Jaguar navigation is all but halted.

Strange AND frustrating...

Same here. Impossibly slow performance. Did NO ONE at limewire test this before releasing it?

i also have an additional problem that i have had with every X version and that is that i seem to not be able to share MP3s from an external drive. perferences allow me to set the folder from which to share (where i have 1000s of MP3s) but i only ever show that i am sharing 15 to 20 files. any idea what would be causing this and what i need to do to fix it?

Default ATI vs. Nvidia

I have tried the latest limewire on a Mac running Jaguar, which has an Nvidia agp card and an ATI pci card, with identical monitors attached to both. The Nvidia card allows Limewire to run at the speed that was normal before 2.6.5, but if any or all of the Limewire window is on the ATI card, the entire system slows to a crawl. It appears that there is an incompatability with the ATI card. Anyone else had this kind of result?

Thats interesting. The reason the nvidia card works better is probably because it supports Quartz Extreme, something PCI cards doesn't do. Maybe LimeWire is one of those apps that really benefit from QE..
