everyting was fine until yest. dowloads fine. will not launch most of the time. then when complete it doesn't save the file. please help. i have mac osx and it used to work fine

Your shared folder under the library tab is gone. I read somewhere if you delete anything out of it, the folder itself deletes! (I don't like that either.) Go to limewire preferences and choose 'shared' and you'll probably see there's nothing in that box. Use the add feature to add your file listed under /limewire/shared folder. Periodically this might disappear again. It happened to me.
