startup problems in OS 10.2

I have OS 10.2.2, and am trying to download Limewire 2.7.11

Installation and Preferences Setup works fine, but every time I try to start up Limewire, I get a message window that says "Startup Error" with a whole list of errors (the prominent one seems to be "NoSuchMessageError"). I would greatly appreciate any help. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times, it doesn't seem to help.

Thanks!

Sara

OS 10.2.2 Probs

I am having the same issue using Mac OS 10.2.2 (updated version) I am the store manager for The Mac Store in Cooper City, FL. My techs can not figure this out either. My guess is that the developers wrote in the wrong version of Java for the OS. But that as I said, is just a guess. I have emailed the issue to LimeWire, but for now, I think we are out of luck.

If any one finds the answer to make this program work, PLEASE let me know. I have a lot of customers we need the answer also.

Thanks!

I just upgraded my Limewire to 2.7.11 and encountered the same startup failure. I have tried numerous re-installs with no luck as of yet. I have even e-mailed the company and have not a response as of yet. My older version worked well, but now that I have installed the latest version, I have nothing!!!!! It is interesting that there email states to continually re-install the program if continued startup errors occur....but this does us no good!!!! I sure hope that they get to the bottom of this problem soon so that we can get back on-line!!!!

startup error in 10.2.2

I'm having the same problem as everyone else and I hope the finally do something about it. I was just going to take limewire for a test drive to see if I really wanted to upgrade to Pro. If they don't fix it, I guess they'll never have my $$$.

Solution

Hey folks, I had the same problem... and here's how I solved it!

First, run the LimeWire Uninstaller. Then delete all remaining LimeWire related files, including two LimeWire preference files (in home-dir/library/preferences). This may not be required, but I just thought I'd start with a clean slate. Finally, download LimeWire 2.7.7 here http://allmacintosh.xs4all.nl/files/limewireosx.sit and run the installer.

Good luck!

winny bitches

Your a bunch of winny bitches. I'm having the same problem but hey it hasn't even been 24hrs since your post. STFU....its free software, LimeWire LLC doesn't revolve around your needs. Get Linux and download gtk-gnutella or STFU as I said before. I'm using a Mac and its not Apple's fault and its not LimeWires, **** happens, at least they will fix it unlike MS. Man this thread pissed me off. Better yet sell your Mac get XP and don't even think of using anything with GNU in it because your too stupid to know what it is.

That solution to download the Limewirw for 10.2.2 software from the All Macintosh site as a .sit is the real solution. Don`t try to download it as a .zip it just won´t do it... thanks to the guy that gave this solution

Sara November 27th, 2002 04:27 AM
