my stupid school firewall wont let me connect I am running mac osX lime wire pro, most recent version of course, i click connect and then it just disconnects after a second , i know the school has a firewall, could they have blocked off accessing the gnutella protocol or something, what can i do to connect to limewire, i need to get on so i can get backup copies of music i have on cd:) |
If you just need to have a backup copy of your cds and you're in Mac OS X, you don't need limewire, gnutella and the network. Just put the cd into your mac, run iTunes and import the track - no firewall problem. This works unless your cd is one with that f***** digital copy protection inside. |
schools and firewalls I have a similair problem at UCSB at FT. I'm fuguring it's a FW issue, but having difficulties figuring it out. I have emailed LW twicw with no reply. I paid them 10 bucks for what? Let me know if you find anything out. Dave |
If your school blocks Gnutella traffic you will not be able to use LimeWire, - that's why LimeWire.com tells you to test the free version before paying for the pro version. |
