Can't tell which version is available As far as I can tell, the version of LW for Mac (or maybe any platform) isn't published.? I look at http://www.limewire.com/index.jsp/download and it just says version 2.7. I have version 2.7.9 (which I can only tell from the Limewird menu, a get info shows the installer version). If I download the instaleer listed on the above URL, it does not say the version anywhere. It seems like the only way I can tell if there is a new version is to completely reinstall LW. Am I missing something? If not, can this be fixed? Thanks! |
Still can't tell the version. http://www.limewire.com/index.jsp/download says 2.8.4 is available, but the Mac version appears to be 2.8.5. Only way I could tell the real version number wasz to download, install, and checkl About. Could this page http://www.limewire.com/index.jsp/download please list the version available for each platform? |
Oh, I hope you did not downgrage from 2.79 to 2.8.5. If you did, I hope you kept the old installer so you can get a working version back. Beware 2.8.5, it's the worst ever. And this new 'little chunk' implementation may be good for the software, but the interface needs to reflect what is happening. I cannot tell how far into an upload someone is, if they are lucky enough to connect and even manage some uploading. We need a running total, and stop all that connecting and dropping. Make the software stay connected on the host's end. Bad bad ideas. I don't like to shut off the program in the middle of someones' transfer, but if I cannot tell where they are, well, they lose, thanks to more poor design. Power to the people. |
