![]() Before I get down to the nitty gritty, there is a little information that may be handy. I am running a lowly (but adequate(at the moment ![]() ![]() First off, the link that I followed to get the latest version, pointed me to version 2.7.13, but I was able to get to version 2.8.5 by working out this link http://www3.limewire.com/download/2.8.5/ A problem that I seem to be encountering, no matter which version I have used (I started using LimeWire back during 2.4.4) is linked to my dial-up time limit. Now before anyone thinks, I know! He needs broadband! I KNOW! but unfortunately the only sort I can get where I live is satellite (incredibly expensive)... and if I don't use one of these dial-up accounts where you pay monthly with no phone charges, my bank manager would have an absolute bl**dy fit over my phone bills ![]() Because I get kicked off, or disconnect myself, and then reconnect, all my unfinished downloads restart from 0% again ![]() ![]() Good grief, this is turning into a full blown story (wish I was getting paid by the word for this! ![]() Having trawled through some of the postings in these forums, I can accept certain realities about LimeWire not being able to find the file I want from the original source, and then finding a duplicate and downloading that etc. etc. blah, blah... The issue I have with that is, if it is a duplicate, why can't LimeWire resume the download from the place that it ended at before? why does it have to start all over again ![]() Please help... Please? One good thing I have found in these forums was the post about running LimeWire directly from the terminal using the 'java -jar /Applications/LimeWire/LimeWire.jar' command. On my system it makes a noticable difference. Oh no... my two hours are just about up again ![]() I look forward to some feedback, and maybe some fixes in the next release. Thanks in advance.
