Question Blocking IP addresses

I am fed up of files that turn out to be some advert for a site offering dubious pleasures! I don't wish to view *anything* drenched in *any* substance thank you very much. Now I know Limewire has a filter to block certain IP addresses, but that's no use if I can't find the address in the first place. I don't seem to have a location column to get this from!

Please help. My filter so far is to remove htm and asf files, and ignore those with different names but totally identical file sizes!

I agree. These 'spammers' are ruining all the fun of file sharing.

In the download window, spread out the 'status' column and you will see the site you are downloading the file from. Enter that address in the preference 'filter, hosts' panel.

Well, easier said than done. I expanded status, and for an instance, an ip showed up, then disappeared. The spammers use high speed servers, so the downloads happen pretty fast. For now, I'll just avoid any lists containing files identical in size.

I was also getting replys to every audio search I tried instantly that were all 378kb T3. If I typed in Dogshit I got 12 hits within seconds. All said Dogshit, some with! some said awesome after them. I finally downloadeds some and it was quick but I was getting a 38.144 IP address from them all. I went to the preference filter section and blocked it by adding 38.*.*.* to the block line then hit add. So far so good. Must be spammers.

Lightbulb Blocking IP addresses

I am just downloading with a modem, so when I searched for znaglefrsgh and got the usual 3 hits (advertising spam) znaglefrsgh.zip znaglefrsgh.url and znaglefrsgh.mpg, the 67kb mpg download gave me enough time to clock the IP.
today the pirate IP is 194.213.194.37, and is blocked on my limewire preferences!. Greetings from Italy!!

The Spammers tend to use high speed servers and own large blocks of ip addresses. But if you are persistent, you can eventually weed them out. Good riddance!

Talking Blocking IP addresses

Further research showed that today, Feb 2003, the most deserving (imho)
IP's to be blocked were :-
64.124.130.145
192.217.228.226
68.6.46.133
194.213.194.37

with just these 4 addresses blocked , I now find some searches are boring and give me Zero hits! ciao!!
