Window Manager work-around -- for what good it does!
 

The following by-passes the Window Manager bug:

launch LimeWire, do whatever moves you
Hide LimeWire
launch another application, do whatever.

--> no Window Manager problems

In order to flip/flop between LimeWire and the other application ALWAYS hide one before clicking on the other.

Now I have both applications running correctly, only LimeWire won't upload/download. One poor soul attempting to upload an 80M .avi file from me got tossed in and out 829 times before he finally gave up! My experience with downloads is the same.

Great. 2.8.5 is NOT a stand-alone application. It's a burn-up-cpu-without-ever-accomplishig-anything application!!

I will try hiding as you suggested.

I watched my uploaders window for a while, and the ones that drop in and out repeatedly are not making progress in the bar. Connecting, uploading, oops. Where'd they go? Not surprisingly, most of them are using 2.8.5 also.

I think the next time I get a version that just works sort of okay, I am going to stick with it and not worry about 'new and improved', thinking it might actually be all that. Because I am usually wrong.
