New Version Freezes My Computer

I assumed that when I came to this forum I would see a ton of posts regarding the unbelievably terrible performance of the latest version of LimeWire. Since this is not the case, I can't imagine what the problem is. Everything was working fine with the old version, and everything continues to work fine as long as LimeWire isn't running.

But as soon as I launch Limewire, my computer's performance slows to a crawl and soon becomes completely frozen. I can't even do a force quit or switch to any other apps. Even the spinning pinwheel does something I've never seen. It flickers.

I'm running OS X 10.2.3 on a 500mhz g4.

You have to go to the developer section of the Apple website and sign up, which is free.

http://www.apple.com/developer/

HOWEVER, you should be aware that this is BETA software.

I have downloaded and installed it, and have had no problems with it. But then, it didn't fix my LimeWire Pro 2.8.6 either, so proceed with due diligence.
