![]() I was having the same problem, but if you play it in the limewire player instead of itunes it won't be corrupt. Then just go to the file where you saved it and double click. It'll open up in itunes without any problems. I made a file for only limewire downloads so I don't get confused between that and what is already in itunes. I know it's not the easiest thing, but it works. Just go to preferences and download, and then check the box where it says use limewire player. Let me know if it works for you. |

![]() I am having the same problem too- every file is corrupt, but they WON'T play in Limewire, or in iTunes, and the only place they show up is in the Incomplete folder- they are all Zero K even though they all seem to download completely (I get the corruption message just before they're 100% complete). Seems to be a common problem- anyone have the answer? |

![]() I am using LimeWire 2.7.13. on System OSX version 10.1.5 I sometimes get that corrupt file message, but when I play the file using iTunes version 3.0.1 there seems to be no problem. In LimeWire preferences I set don't clear completed downloads automatically and I don't use LimeWire as the default player. I also specified my own download folder with a name that I made up. Don't know if this will help but give it a shot. |

![]() I'm running 10.1.4 on a G3, with a 6GB internal hard drive and a 40GB external, both Maxtor. The last time I downloaded files with LimeWire a few weeks back (free version), all was well. This morning all was not well. The interface was sluggish. My download folder was set to a subfolder in the external drive via FireWire, as it had always been. The songs would finish downloading, an error message would announce they were corrupted, and they would vanish. I went to the site, which urged me to download a more current version, which I did (paid the $10 for Pro). Same problem with "corrupt" files, except now it was unmounting my external drive. Restart and try again. I switched the download folder to a subfolder on the internal drive. Files still downloading as "corrupt" and vanishing. One seemed to work, but iTunes couldn't recognize its name, and once I played it, it unmounted my external drive, which had nothing to do with the transaction. I won't complain about the primitive no-refund policy. I just want LimeWire to make me feel like I'm not a total chump for buying LW Pro. |

![]() I just wanted to chime in with more info for you to chew on: Pismo 400 mHz, 768 Megs memory, OS X 10.2.2, 40 gb Firewire drive With the previous version of Limewire, I had little to no problems. Occacionally I would get the "could not move to library", but that was almost always due to lack of disk space (I only recently got the FW drive). The corrupt files only seemed to occur when I did a LOT of disk/processor intensive activity concurrently. I noticed that the space available listed at the top of finder windows did not update regularly, especially when Limewire was filling it up. Therefore, I could end up with lots of "could not moves" when the disk got full. I also had to get used to the fact that 10.2 (I don't know about 10.1) gets REALLY flaky if you try to steal the last 80-90 megs of disk space from it. I downloaded and installed the newest version two days ago. I have since then been able to download a grand total of 1 (That's O N E) file. The other 50 or so that I have tried, about 1 third of which "finished", I was never able to locate on my hard drive. I even tried doing a search for visible and invisible items, with just fragments of the filename. NOTHING. They didn't even show up in the incomplete folder... After "finishing" or while downloading. In addition, nearly 96% of the files I downloaded (or attempted to download) were reported as corrupt. With previous editions, it would continue download. Not so with this one. It claimed to continue, but the file never materialized. I can't figure out where it's saving these files!.... in previous editions, you could specify an incomplete download folder, but in this one you can't. WTF? Does Limewire do something really assinine and wierd, like trying to fill up its available memory with data (ie, save the file "to memory" and then write to disk when that is full?... Presumably to minimize the need for constant disk access? I don't know, but this seems to be a HUGE step backward for Limewire. These new problems are inexplicable. I'm going to try removing and reinstalling. If that doesn't work, it's back to the old version. |

![]() Well, I see I'm not the only one having this problem. I began using Limewire last fall when I got an iMac, running OS X 10.2. _For about three months, Limewire downloading was almost seamless for me - very few corrupt files. Lately, though, a good 75% - 80% of my downloads end with the message, "Limewire has detected a corruption in the file ... would you like to download anyway?" or words to that effect. _Yet even if I click "yes," to continue the download, the file doesn't appear in my library. _So, in the case of mp.3s, I can't move them to iTunes. _There's nothing to move. Has anyone from Limewire weighed in on this?_ It's a really annoying problem - I wonder if somehow the recording industry has injected bad files into the mix. _Or is that notion a tad too paranoid? |
