While we Impatiently Wait for the Promised Bug Fixes I've been using Acquisition, which is up to version 0.704 now, and I must confess, it is getting pretty sweet indeed. It handles many connections without prodding. Right now it has 5 peers and 44 leaves running, and it connects to the LimeWire network much better than in the past.
I have had it running for 2 days straight (actually, I ran 0.703 for 2 days and just now downloaded and started 0.704. No hiccups, no burps, no crashes, just humming right along nicely.
I still wish it either had more LimeWire like features, or that LimeWire would hire this guy to fix the latest cr*p they've stuck us with, and make their program usable once again.
But for those of you that are tired of waiting, (heck, they don't even answer Pro support anymore, I wrote them over a week ago), I would strongly recommend this as a more than viable alternative. I'm close to paying the developer the $20, knowing that he cares about the product he puts out, updates it often, and answers messages personally from his posters. And just say good bye to L W. |
