Could not move to Library, & also disappearing files

G'day from Oz

These problems seem to be far worse than previous versions.

I've just got Jaguar.2.3 up & running, so installed LimeWire Pro 2.8.6. for X, 6 days ago

It's a bloody disaster. Far worse than my last version on 9.2.2

Once, as I started up LimeWire with a heap of partial & queued downloads waiting, my isp cut my modem connection during startup. Downloads.dat got re-set to 4K. No more file access. This has always been a pain, caused by various reasons, & still not fixed.

As for the dreaded 'Could not move to Library', I've tried lots of downloads, with only small ones successful.

I've tried the MS Office for X files (lots of hits, in several groups, 97,442 Kb). They consistently bomb with this error. Sometimes straight away, sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes after a couple of hours. 5 days trying to get something I'd might use about twice a year (just trying to download purely for trialling LimeWire of course).

I've un-installed, re-installed, removed the 'Incomplete' folder, etc, etc. Absolutely nothing works. This used to be an intermittant error, now someones programmed it in as an bonus feature! (or is billy boy somehow killing these particular files, paranoia).

Can we turn of 'swarmed' downloads and concentrate the download from just one hit source, just to try that as an option?

I'm off to investigate drumbeat, hope it works with X.

Santa
