CANNOT SEEM TO PLAY MPEG with QUICKTIME 6.1

when i have completed downloading mpg files and try to launch themwith quicktime I GET THIS CRAPPYASS MESSAGE: A SOFTWARE COMPONENT NEEDED BY THE MOVIE COULD NOT BE FOUND !PLEASE SOMEONE HELP THE DIRTY MOVIE CAUSE THANX
