Can't launch Limewire music downloads I've got a G-3 Mac running OS-9. My original Limewire worked great. I am using the free ddownload software. Since it prompted me to upgrade to a newer version of Limewire which I did, I can no longer launch songs. Before the 'upgrade' I could launch a song either while it was downloading (thereby playing only that which had been downloaded at that point) or the completed song in my file. Now it won't play/launch. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help. I'm not sure what version Limewire I have or had. The "get info" reveals LaunchAnywhere 4.5 Macintosh edition 2001, that it was created with ZeroG's InstallAnywhere created 2/24/02 modified 11/2/02. RZimm1@erols.com Thanks |

I don't think I have itunes on the machine in question, but I'll check. Does that occur only with the newer Limewire versions? As mentioned it used to work perfectly but with the 'update' download the problem was introduced. And I can't find the old version to reinstall it so that's not a solution. Thanks for your help, I welcome any other thoughts. RZimm1@erols.com |

itunes I have always used itunes to listen and burn my music. I'm not sure if it has always been that way. I have a friend who uses real player to listen/burn her music (PC user) If you have itunes, try dragging the preferences file to the trash then relaunch itunes. When it asks if you wnat it to find all MP3 files on you hard drive, check yes and let it go throught it's motions. (you can always delete the mp3 files after it finishes.) Then you should be able to launch limewire into itunes. Itunes 2.0.4 is really nice. It has an equalizer that helps make tuens much better sounding. It is much nicer than the itunes that came with MAC OS 9.1. |

I don't believe I have itunes. In the past when it was launching songs it did it with RealPlayer. It worked fine. I have those songs saves and they saves as realplayer format. So presuming I don't have itunes any way to direct me via the above? I was thinking about trashing Limewire and downloading it again. I tried sending them an email about this but didn't get anywhere. I thought about paying for the pro level but I decided not to commit any dollars until I am sure I'll get something that plays. I'm very appreciative that you're trying to help me. Thanks for your continued thoughts. |

From Greg Blidson This was my reply from limewire: Redownload. We had a Mac Classic problem. Thanks -greg Otherwise, try getting itunes from www.apple.com or www.versontracker.com I like it a lot and you might, too. |

still no limewire 'launch' Hey Drk Ldy and anyone. I'm back from traveling so I'm going to struggle with this limewire thing some more. I don't have itunes, I just checked, so I'm thinking about trashing my Limewire and redownloading it. I'll wait a bit to see if you have any take on this, but I can't see that it would do any harm. |
