Default Download older (working) versions here
Go to http://www3.limewire.com/download and you can download any older version of Limewire.

I downloaded the new version with no successful downloads (I was at 100% failure) I downloaded version 2.8.6 and started downloading just like I used too!

Yep, but some queries older LimeWire versions send are now filtered by newer LimeWire versions, so the performance should go down while more people upgrade.

Apparently Limewire does not want you to download an older working version, as this link no longer works.

Did this link ever work? I don't think so because it's missing a slash at the end.

Link still works for me. Tried it the other day, and again just now. Brings up the directory for a long list of versions. Be careful downloading, the file names are a bit confusing.
