![]() when i open limewire it takes over five minutes for the program to start. also, i cannot tell the difference between the free version and the version i paid for. what are the benefits of pro? ![]() |

![]() Hi When you double click on the icon, Limewire has a number of time-consuming tasks to perform. The factor that will most slow down operational status is preparing the files for sharing. This is a process called "hashing" and, the more files you are offering, the longer the hashing time. It also has to negotiate with the Gnutella network, assess whether you are going to be an ultrapeer or leaf, and then make the appropriate connections. Four to five minutes is not an excessive time if you have a large library. I'm pleased that you elected to pay for Limewire. Openshare projects like Limewire deserve our support. To answer your direct question, there is no material difference betwwen the "Free" and the "Pro" version. |
