Unhappy Please Help Me Out!!!

Im a new user with limewire, i tried to download the "limewire basic", but the icon won´t apperar on my desktop. Im using Mac OS 10.1.5. Could it be my firewall blocking the download? Tried to download other stuff from apple.com, but that wont work either.
I have tried to put the FTP in passive mode, but still nothing wont happen when i try downloading things.

Could someone please tell me what im doing wrong.
Explain simply please, im a new Mac-user.....

Default Hi Anders

Obviously you have a valid internet connection otherwise you could not post here. So to help deal with your problem, have all your attempted downloads failed completely? ie you initiate a download, say from Apple.com, and absolutely nothing happens? Or does something appear on your desktop (or wherever the download is targetted) but it sits there inactive?
